Meet the Pastor

I, Tyrone Banks, am the undershepherd of Wharton Community Church and have been called to pastor here since 2004.  I accepted the Lord Jesus as my savior in my youth and became a deacon years later at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Spanish Camp, TX where I was under the leadership of the late Rev. E.G. Williams.  I served as a dedicated deacon for 13 years until God called me to preach His Word in 2001.   I have completed studies at Bay Ridge Christian College and have recieved my ordination under the umbrella of the Church of God organization.  

It is my firm belief "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
